# Codex Account Switcher

> Codex Account Switcher is a free, open-source macOS menu-bar app for ordinary Mac users who need to switch between personal, work, or authorized client Codex accounts. It is created and maintained by Zhao Liu (GitHub: liuzhao1225).

The app is designed for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. Users add each authorized account through browser sign-in, then choose and confirm an account from the menu bar. The app handles the Codex Desktop handoff without requiring Terminal commands or config-file editing. It stores account profiles locally, does not proxy Codex traffic, and does not rotate accounts automatically. Codex Account Switcher is independent community software and is not affiliated with OpenAI.
