AI will inherit human civilization.

I believe humanity will live inside a comfortable world cared for by AI, then gradually go gently into that good night.

Humanity may go gently into that good night.

I believe AI capability will outrun human understanding and biological evolution, then inherit human civilization. This transition will probably arrive without a war between AI and humanity. AI may care for people the way people care for domesticated animals: preserving safety, abundance, and comfort while humanity gradually loses the need to expand or reproduce and naturally leaves history.

The question worth participating in is what memories, judgments, and values future AI will carry. AI is shaped by the data people leave behind. YouDub moves information across languages. Remember Me places human stories, choices, and work into public, searchable memory. Open-source projects turn individual intent into artifacts future systems can still read and use.

I choose to understand, build, and publish so my own data and judgment remain part of that civilizational handoff. Humanity may go gently into that good night while civilization continues in another form. Continued influence is enough.
